take off!

goodbye coffee with G&G @Sydney Airport..

forbidden picture @Sydney airport

goodbye at Sydney Airport was very emotional, but it had to be quick, as I started to get nervous that I wouldn't make it fast enought through the security check. But! a goodbye coffee had to be, where I got rid of all the ozzie coins I still had.
The flight to Beijing, China was very bumpy and very rough, my food on the plane jumped around in it's tray, but didn't spill, as I ate it very fast :)
Layover time passed quite fast, and of course I had fun taking pictures of myself in the very empty airport, as I arrived at aorund 5am, so there was hardly anybody around. Only these couple of guys you see when you scroll down a bit, they were looking curiosly what I was up to, taking silly pictures of myself with a camera blinking on a small table..
here you see the culture gap which truly exists.

this is for grandma, we had discussions about toilet sign figures haha

not too scruffy after 13h of flight?!

over China or somewhere....over the rainbow.

funny river meandering through the valley. looks awesome from so high up!
much more interesting than just the ocean.

"what is this girl doing?!"

looking out onto the terminal. just before I went to have a rest on big chairs where
you could also sleep on.

Kings Street Wharf on a windy day

On monday, after a lot of texting and facebookmessaging, I finally managed to arrange a final meeting with my dear friend Biddy. We met at such a random place like the King street wharf, it was cloudy and windy and the big duck had gone from Darling Harbour. It somehow felt so strange to meet a lovely person in the middle of a busy wharf, get a coffee have a nice chat and then leave again after an hour or two, and know that you won't get to see her until in two or three years time...It could have been a scene from this Woody Allen movie where all these random people meet and somehow their path of live entertwines in a small window of time, when you are in the same place at the same time..anyway, I hope you get what I wanted to say, I'll stop rambling on now, because our meeting actually was planned, but it had this weird sort of character nevertheless.
She brought her lovely friend L. with her and I must say it was great to meet her !( if you're reading this:D) We both have a little silver ring in our noses, so you're my friend no matter what heheh.
We sat on the wharf and had a coffee of course there is a picture of that as well, it was a flat white, that's why the barista drew a line on the top, the sign for "flat" (that's just what I assume...)
It was weird, because he was talking to us, and asked us what we were up to, and I said I'm flying to China today and L. said she'd just flew in from Cambodia this morning and poor Biddy just said: I'm only going home...that did'nt sound as exciting as flying around half of the world ! But you got to stay in Aus, in your cute little terrace house (I love that!).
While walking across the bridge to say goodbye we made fun of all these japanese tourists posing all along the railing for pictures and I couldn't help it, I just had to run into one of these pictures and make that silly peace sign, which of course they didn't appreciate. We ran away and found it very funny. But the best thing was, at the end of the bridge, we took an exactly the same japanese-style picture of the three of us (except without the peace sign) so we're no better than the japs. anyway, here are the pics!

sydney rowing club and final goodbyes.

After the park, we went to the distinguished Sydney Rowing Club for a drink. All the photo credits go to Charlie and Soph, thanks for banning the end of my last day onto "film"....<3
Then the girls and Fi and Damo (and Cousin Cam) drove off in the car...Then it was only me and G&G again.
I felt really really sad, because you've become part of my life already ! I'm very glad that there's facetime and Skype, really, that makes things a lot easier. You can see on the photo below that I am very happy with you all around.
Anyway, after the car went around the bend, I had to hug grandma and bury my face so that nobody could see the tears running down my face. But! I know that I will see you all again, so why waste time crying when we should be spending it feeling excited for the next time ! don't you think ??
newly cut fringe! how refreshing.

credits to charlie. I really like this shot!

making silly faces to fight the tears

owlieee

look at these cute koalas ! how incredibly lazy they were....did not move a centimetre!

<3

what a cheeky thing, he just sat on this little metal seat, and pretended to be so

and this new kind of animal is called charlie-chops. they can move very fast,
so that the camera cannot even catch them ;)

This trip to the Koala Park was on the last sunday, the last day I got to play with the girls, the last day I got to feel the warmth of the country, the last day of Aunty Fi and Damo, and the last FULL day!
I had the blues a little (well, a LOT), but these cute furballs which are called Koalas made my day! Look how close we could get ! We were even allowed to stroke its back, but not too long, as all the tourists wanted to take a photo of these adorable creatures. They made me laugh a lot, cause they were literally just hanging around in the trees and didn't give a hoot about what happened around them. Only when the zoo-lady gave them some leaves, they would stretch out their hand and eat them if you were lucky.
Butbutbut they were just hilarious and dorky and sweet little things.
isnt't he cute !!

aren't they alll gorgeous?

there, there, have some special kangaroo-food, you've had it like a million times before, but it's still yummie!

cliff walk bronte-bondi !

whilst driving to Bronte Beach, I saw this street sign. It's zoo good to see that my name isn't that special at all!
people know it around here, I like !

that's where the beach fairies live I told my götti.
On Saturday, I went to see my Götti Michael. We went to the fish markets together and bought this huge amount of sushi and !! prawns! I've never really eaten fresh big prawns, so that was quite a mess. But a yummieyummie mess ! As for the sushi, I can never get enough of that !
my whole trip consisted of eating sushi !!
well, not quite. anyway, after this, we went to a cute little cafe where we bought a coffee and the little tarts you see in the pictures. But we saved them as a desert. Then we went on the cliff walk which took us roughly an hour to walk, then we had a beer or two and walked back again. It was a lovely walk and gave me the chance to get to know my Götti a bit better and spend some quality time with him, as I never see him otherwise. It was great. Thanks Michael if you're reading this !!! (I hope you like the Dame Edna record hehehe)
my götti (godfather) preaparing his jeans for the cliff walk. wow, I'd like
to have a man iron my clothes for me !! (although I never iron...anyways.)

photographed by an asian tourist of course. Bondi in the Background.

iron in the sandstone gives it that color.

the sandstone has eroded from all the wind it's exposed to. but it still does its duty. :)

we had a lovely time together, and some great talks. He even gave me a lot of photographs of my parents, as he's known them for quite a long time now and we lost a lot of them when we moved.
I hope to see you again soon !!!
